Eishockey WM 2010 – Deutschland vs USA 2-1 (IIHF Weltrekordspiel)

Julio 30th, 2010 by eurobecause

Weltrekord! Die FAN-tastischste Eishockey-Party aller Zeiten. Vor allem, weil das DEB-Team für DEN Mega-Hammer sorgte und die US-Boys 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 0:1/1:0) nach Verlängerung besiegte. Unglaublich. Unfassbar. Und so wunderschön! Die Fußballer hatten 2006 ihr Sommermärchen, die Handballer 2007 ihr Wintermärchen. Auf gehts, Jungs! Schenkt

Learning to Cope With Type II Diabetes – Part 2

Julio 27th, 2010 by eurobecause

So alongside 10,000 other people in the U.S, you have received a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes. Hearing this can cause people to react in many ways, and as already discussed this can be with anger, or denial. Becoming depressed is another reaction that is quite common.

To actually start living with your diabetes can be difficult some times, and this is especially so as the disease begins to progress, leaving you suffering with some of the complications of diabetes. It is quite a natural reaction for you to begin to feel as though you are fighting a losing battle.

It is also hard to keep your blood sugar levels under control at times, and sometimes you can feel as though you are fighting a losing battle. One way to help with keeping blood sugar levels under control is to ensure that you are using a top brand blood glucose meter, such as Accu-Chek Advantage, as this is simple to use, keeps a record of the last 480 readings including the date and time they were taken, and all the information can be downloaded to your computer with the help of the extra pc download kit that is available separately.

Should you feel that you are getting depressed then make sure you talk to your medical team and don’t just bottle it all up – it could be that there is an actual physical cause for how you are feeling which can be treated easily and quickly. Your team will be experienced in helping patients with these feelings, and you can find that talking things through with someone who you feel understands your problems and what you are going through can be a great help to you, and they will be able to help you come up with a plan to overcome your depression.

There is a lot to learn and to take on board once you know you have type II diabetes, and your feelings about this are bound to alter, especially in the beginning. That is why it is so important for you to be able to feel that you are able to control your disease, and not just literally lie back and let everyone else sort it out for you.

At the end of the day, it is you, and your family who are going to have to adjust to life with diabetes. You should not feel alone though, as there are many groups that are available to you, to help get through this difficult adjustment period.

Your medical team will be happy to put you in touch with people that can help and guide you through the first few confusing days, weeks and months as you come to terms with your type II diabetes. Many self help groups exist where other people that have diabetes get together and just talk – it is surprising how much better you can feel in yourself to actually meet and speak to someone who is going through the same thing as you are.

Remember diabetes will only change your life as much as you allow it to.

The Great Skoda Octavia

Julio 26th, 2010 by eurobecause

At the beginning of December 1895 the mechanic Václav Laurin and the book-seller Václav Klement, both bicycle enthusiasts, started manufacturing bicycles of their own design, patriotically named Slavia in the nationalist atmosphere of the end of the 19th century. A few years later, in 1899, the Laurin & Klement Co. began producing motorcycles, which were soon successful and gained several racing victories. After initial experiments at the turn of century, producing of motorcycles was gradually replaced by automobiles form 1905 onward.

Many, many years later in the creation of Skoda Octavia, the company laboured hard in producing the most advanced technology therefore making every part to be high in quality and with outstanding technical specifications. Basically, the Skoda Octavia is a small family car created by Skoda Auto in the year 1996. The name itself was patterned after a certain model which was originally released in 1959 and 1971.

The vibrant and fresh interior of the Skoda Octavia will guarantee every passenger to have a relaxed feeling while boarding to their destination. It is mounted with excellent Volkswagen Group switchgear as well as good quality plastics. Space is never an issue since there is sufficient room for both front and rear seat occupants and it is designed in such a way that it will be a cosy place to stay in. The hatchback’s boot is huge. Its dashboard which was fashioned using PU technology is transparent with smooth curves and surface that will be very pleasing to touch. Controls are properly arranged and numerous storage compartments are mounted that will only make staying inside as comfortable as one longed for in a vehicle. Moreover, all of its upholstery are carefully made therefore creating beautiful ambiance within. And with all these features, what more would you look in a vehicle?

In essence, the first generation Skoda Octavia which was launched in the year 1996 paved the way to make the company renowned in the automotive world. Upon its released, it harboured a huge success because of its strength, sophistication and value for money. The model was based purely on Volkswagen Golf but considerably with larger body that tenders better comfort. And although the chassis is not working really well, it can still go along with ease even on twisty curves and will go fine even on extra long journeys. One seen problem with this vehicle is it creates enormous wind noise which can go even on the cabin at motorway travelling speed and because of its flaws; the company decided that in the year 2000, the first generation will have a facelift. After then, it was still being marketed most particularly in Germany, Asia, and West Europe where it bears the name as Octavia Tour.

Moreover, the second generation Skoda Octavia was released in 2004 which was based on the A platform and other Volkswagen Group of cars which include VW Golf V, Audi A3 II, SEAT Altea, SEAT Leon II, VW Touran, and VW Golf Plus. In India, it was named as Laura to better set it aside from the first model. Manufacturers of the second generation were able to skilfully incorporate all the good point of the first generation to while eliminating all the weak points. At the present, it features more legroom for rear seat passengers as well as augments ground clearance at front and rear in order to diminish the menace of grounding on steep ramps or facing kerbs. On 2006, an off-road version was launched into public in the third quarter of the year which was named as Octavia Scout which characterizes a Haldex four-wheel drive manipulated by a computer-controlled clutch-based centre-differential. In addition, it also features a 4×4 that offers 24 mm higher ground clearance compared to the standard versions.

The revolutionized in Skoda Octavia model only proves of the company’s commitment to improve their model to answer the demand of their supporters. And they are also highly sensitive to what their critics had to say because they believe that these people would help them in the improvement of their models making them a competitive brand in the automotive world.

The Best Quality Printer Paper

Julio 25th, 2010 by eurobecause

Image : http://www.flickr.com

For certain people printing is simply a matter of outputting some results on paper or just submitting their work. However, for others it is their profession. For people of this group, printing is not a simple thing, and in fact encompasses so many variables in the pursuit of perfection.

Ironically, the paper itself is just as an important element as the quality of the printing machines. Basically there are two various kinds of printing paper, one is everyday kind, and the other is the high-quality professional ones. The ones most consumers use at home is the common printing paper. However, professional printing jobs cannot utilize common 70 gram paper, but in its place it uses very high-quality printer paper.

Both the professional printer paper and the most common printer paper comes in multiple sizes including A4, A5, A2 and A3.

Common Printing Paper

The weight of common printer paper can range between 70 grams to 100 grams or even higher for hardcore printing purposes. The usual weight for card stock is more than 110 grams. Papers such as this typically the appears normal, without any smoothness or glossiness. It has the ability to be used in all kinds of printers such as bubble jet, inkjet, and LaserJet printers.

When you purchase this kind of printer paper, make certain that it is of good quality and branded. This is done to prevent the printer ink from leaving smudges on the paper, or having the printing visible on the other side. Another name for this kind of paper is general purpose paper.

Professional Printing Paper

This particular type of printing paper can be segregated into several different kinds, which includes A size printer paper, photo laser paper, brochure paper, high gloss paper, non-tear and waterproof paper, wide format inkjet paper, high density color laser printer paper, and many more. The unique quality with this kind of printer paper is that it is typically twice as thick as the general purpose or common printer paper. And it can last up to twice as long.

This kind of printing paper is typically used in magazines, printing cards, flyers and glossy brochures, certificates, books, posters, photos, as well as many more. Generally speaking the ink also cost more than the kind used to print on general purpose paper. Smudging is not a problem and typically this paper is waterproof, however it should be noted that there is a separate category of printer paper known as waterproof paper.

The printing on this type of paper is longer lasting as well. This is due to the fact that the density of this printing paper is higher, which provides protection to the ink or print from being exposed to danger such as water and so on.

10 Fun Things to do in London, England

Julio 24th, 2010 by eurobecause

Image : http://www.flickr.com

1. Head to the British Museum.

The British Museum will fascinate even those uninterested in history. Featuring more than fifteen million artifacts, a visit to the British Museum is both an eye opener and an educational experience. Take your time to walk through the museum’s numerous collections and if you are tired, you can always catch your breath at the museum cafe.

2. Take photos of the London Bridge at dusk.

The London Bridge is not only a London icon; it is also immensely beautiful in its own right. Stretching across the River Thames, the London Bridge is part of the A3 road. The serenely flowing river presents an interesting contrast to the sometimes busy traffic over the bridge. Head over here at dusk for excellent photo-taking opportunities.

3. Take time off to see the Clock Tower and Big Ben.

The clock tower is the world’s largest, four-faced chiming clock and its design is simply breathtaking. The Big Ben, meanwhile, refers to the giant bell within the clock tower. They are also icons commonly associated with London, and you will have fun enjoying the sight and taking photos.

4. Witness the Changing of the Queens’ Guards.

If you head to Buckingham Palace at the right time, you may be lucky enough to catch the changing of the Queens’ guards, whereby the New Guards take over from the Old Guards, accompanied by music from a full military band. This takes place everyday from April to July, and on alternate days from August to March.

5. Go on a tour of the Palace of Westminster.

Such tours are only provided in the summer. However, this will allow you to take in the beautiful architecture and layout of the Palace, as well as to hear an educational commentary on the functions and history of the Palace.

6. Shop at Harrods.

Yet another icon of London, this is one place you have to go even if it is just to window shop. Harrod’s seasonal Christmas department and Food Hall is famous. Look out also for the memorial sculptures dedicated to the late Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed.

7. Take a walk around Trafalgar Square.

Although feeding the pigeons is no longer allowed, you will still enjoy a brisk walk around this beautiful open square. There are also interesting monuments at each plinth that may capture your interest.

8. Visit St Paul’s Cathedral.

This is a beautiful church that was built in 1710 to replace its Gothic predecessor, which was destroyed in a fire. The church has fantastic acoustics; be sure to take note of its Whispering Gallery.

9. Go on the London Eye.

This is an enormous structure akin to a Ferris wheel. A ride on the London Eye will give you spectacular panoramic views of London and it will be an exhilarating experience for the whole family.

10. Sit in Shakespeare’s Globe

This is a famous historical playhouse that has existed since Shakespearean times. You can choose to watch a play in here or opt for an extensive educational tour.

Coleman Two-Way Radio

Julio 23rd, 2010 by eurobecause

Very hard to hear. – Will –
I bought three of these to partner with my Rino 130. Even though there was no documentation about what type of radio this is, I assumed the 14 channels were FRS. The good news is that this is indeed an FRS radio and works with other FRS radios, so that’s a nice plus. They are waterproof, which is great, and apparently float too.

Unfortunately, this radio is pretty much unusable due to the extremely poor mic sensitivity and somewhat low speaker volume. I purchased these to use on sea kayaks, which I use on all types of small to big lakes. On any kind of all-sports lake, the sounds of small boats in the distance, medium wind, and small waves completely drown out the radio and make it impossible to understand the person talking with the Colman radio. The radio is intended to be used on a vest for some reason, but the only place the radio would be usable is on a placid lake or quiet stream… places where you wouldn’t need to wear a life vest or even worry about getting wet.

I’m stuck with these now and I’m going to have to take one apart to see if I can modify it to be usable. I found that if I punched out the water proofing film for the mic, the radio works normally and mic sensitivity becomes equal to other cheap FRS radios, so in short, it becomes usable. The only problem is that it’s not water proof anymore. My Rino 130 seems to have a pinhole for the mic, which may be small enough to keep water from entering for short durations under water. So on my second Colman radio I just put a tiny pinhole in the center of the mic film with a safety pin and tada, it worked. This radio should continue to be waterproof due to the pressure inside the radio keeping water from entering such a small hole, like the rino. The radio is still not as loud as I would like, but I can’t fix that by stabbing it.
